Think like an Entrepreneur
Generally speaking, people that treat their role in a corporation as owners are usually very successful. When faced with a dilemma at work, ask yourself “if this was my own company, what would I do”? Behaving with integrity will help you become a balanced professional and guide you like a compass in unchartered waters.

I just clicked on this blog for the first time. I love your post for 3/18. I even copied it down. I am trying to think of how I can apply it to myself. I am a public school teacher. Hmmm. I guess as a taxpayer, I am an owner! I will try this out and see how it works.
I am so glad you found it helpful. I think this is applicable in any industry or profession. Hope it works well for you!
In today's corporate environment, one has to think of oneself as an entrepreneur of their own skills, an independent contractor who is at the moment working for one client; certainly many of us are thought of as disposable cogs by employers.
This is not to say that we should work with chips on our shoulders 24/7, but that our first loyalty is to ourselves. If we think as an entrepreneur for the good of the employer and subsume our goals, we are misplacing our priorities.
Of course, I am speaking as someone who left the corporate world to open my own business nine years ago, and would have a very hard time going back to work for others.
I think its about thinking like an entrepreneur for the good of the company and yourself; you dont give up your rights and aspirations as a result.
