Cliques at Work
It seems like everywhere you go, people form cliques. I try as much as I can to make sure I interact with people outside of my department and comfort zone. Cliques have a way of making others feel excluded and not part of the team. I think that its fine to spend time with people you like and have a lot in common with, however, I don't think there should be a perception of exclusivity in these relationships. I was talking with a friend recently and we were thinking, Why do clicks exist? and are they important?

Clicks exist because people have the need to belong to something, to have a sense of community. Are they always positive? Not necessarily. However, the positive aspect of them are to network and build each other up. One cannot stand alone, you need someone to help you get up when you fall. So if you're in a click that is not helping - Get Out Fast.
I think it's spelled "clique."
You're right "clique(s)" I stand corrected.
Thank you for the correction. I think there is nothing wrong with cliques, as long as they are not exclusive and people are excluded or there is a perception of exclusion. They can be effective ways of networking and building relationships as long as the include everyone.
